Kingston WI - our activities: meetings and clubs
What can you expect as a member of Kingston WI?
At our monthly meetings we will typically have an external speaker –on a wide range of topics!
Recent presentations have included: our Kingston Council Environmental officer and founder of Citizen Zoo who talked about wild-life in the Borough, a local beekeeper who makes skin treatments and other items, a talk and demonstration by a fashion student at Kingston University (which offers internationally renowned fashion degrees) and a presentation from a Thames mud-lark and a display of his finds!
Each meeting includes regular updates from our clubs, details of our calendar for the next month and monthly competitions.
There is a refreshment interval in the break out area to meet old friends and make new ones. We make sure that new members and visitors are welcomed personally and introduced to our existing members so that they have a point of contact for the meeting.

There are a variety of clubs available to our members and multiple activities each month
As a member of Kingston WI you will be able to participate in a range of clubs that operate in addition to our meetings purely for our members. Our members take it in turns to help organise events and activities and most of our clubs have a co-ordinator to oversee activities.
Bi-monthly Supper Club - this is one of our most popular clubs - our members take it in turns to organise a meal out every other month in a local restaurant. The Kingston area offers a variety of cuisines and we take full advantage the range available!
Book Club - If you love books, you can join with other readers in our monthly book club!
Craft Club - meets in a local pub and undertakes a variety of projects and trips
Culture Vultures - we visit museums, galleries, concerts etc. - taking advantage of living in London with its many cultural sites!
Garden Visits Group - Visiting gardens in and around Kingston - with a stop for tea and cake as part of the visit!
KWIzzers! - we have a keen quizzing contingent at Kingston WI! We visit different pubs in the locality and usually field one or two teams. The emphasis is on fun - no qualifications needed!
Social Club - whether you like sport (bowls, darts, croquet etc!), theatre, meals out or the cinema, there is bound to be something for you!
Walking Group - we take advantage of our beautiful surroundings here in south-west London and go on shorter as well as longer walks – always including a stop for tea/coffee & cake – or possibly a pub lunch!
Weekday Women - a relaxed meet for coffee/lunch/other activities – during the day - at a different time/day each month

Our Speakers for 2025
We have a comprehensive plan for speakers for 2025 and are looking forward to hearing presentations on a variety of different topics! Our members our keen to hear different experiences and in fact, we have presentations from our members and family members as well as third party speakers!
As well as presentations, we have topical announcements, an update from our clubs, a raffle and prizes and time to socialise with other members over a hot drink and a biscuit. We are a highly co-operative group and help each other out at the meetings; and our main focus is a friendly, welcoming environment for our members and visitors to enjoy!
